some changes on the network layer

without comments

After quite a while of testing we’re going to implement a bunch of new hardware. Lets start with the Wifi first, after having HP MSM Wifi for several Years with a lot of Problems especially on high density areas and Guest Access. We looked at a few different Vendors and got stuck on Aruba. We implemented a few hundreds as Instant VCs in a couple of sites. Now its time to implement that stuff for all sites and we also decided to do that with Controller based Arubas. So we ordered 2 Aruba 7240 Controller [1]. Clearpass and Airwave is already live and in use since we’re testing the Instants. Now we have to wait for the Controller and the new Access Points that we ordered…

In the meanwhile we could install the new Network Hardware which is already in the Office since a couple of Days. In that case we are talking about 2 Juniper EX9208 [2] and a bunch of EX4600 Switches [3]. Due to redundancy the Chassis are going to be in different Buildings. The Chassis will be interconnected with a 80Gbit/s Link-Aggregation, there will also have a 80Gbit/s Link-Aggregation to the EX4600 VCs.

I’m going to be out of Office next Week, after that I’ll  take and share a few Pictures.

I received a bunch of Aruba APs today, including the AP205, AP215 and the CLoud Controller 7004. Lets take a look and see how they will fit into the network.
